John has more than 30 years of experience helping companies build commercial narratives that translate into market value. As Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Sinter, he advises executives and investors on designing financial content-publishing systems that align communications, capital strategy, and digital performance - making valuation measurable and manageable.
John specializes in what he calls "valuation systems design": explaining business in ways that work equally well for algorithms and people. His expertise spans investor relations, digital marketing, FP&A, and data analytics, with deep sector knowledge in technology, media, and telecommunications. He has guided companies through fundraising, competitive repositioning, liquidity events, and crisis situations - building stakeholder belief in future value at every stage.
Before founding Sinter, John served as Managing Director and Sector Head for Technology, Media and Telecoms at FTI Consulting, where he led content-based programs supporting higher valuations and credibility through major corporate transitions. He previously held Managing Director and EVP roles at The Abernathy MacGregor Group and Robinson Lerer & Montgomery, advising clients including Morgan Stanley, Commerce Bank, and Northwest Airlines on crisis communications, transactions, and reputation strategy. John began his career at Burson-Marsteller and Orion Consultants, building a foundation in corporate communications and financial services research.
John holds a BA in English and Medieval Studies from Princeton University, where he received two prizes for independent work. He is based in Greater Boston.
