Sign the "Stop the Koch Brothers" Petition, Support Fair Reporting

1 min. read

The other day, we wrote about the Koch brothers' interest in buying the Tribune Company’s eight regional newspapers, including The Los Angeles Times and The Chicago Tribune. As we pointed out, this should be of concern to all of us who support clean tech and a sustainable future, as the Koch brothers have funded a massive campaign against renewable energy for several years now.  Owning a major newspaper company will only help them further their pro-fossil-fuel, anti-clean-energy agenda. If you agree with us, we encourage you to sign Free Press' "Stop the Koch Brothers" petition, which says:

We need journalism that serves communities, not extremist agendas. We need media owners who will encourage their reporters to expose corporate and government wrongdoing. Charles and David Koch are more interested in serving their own interests than in providing the news and reporting that people need.

Bottom line: if you care about fair reporting and public education through important media outlets like the Los Angeles Times, you should be very concerned with the idea of the Koch brothers turning those outlets into pro-fossil-fuel and anti-clean-energy propaganda forums.
